Sacra Napoli
Sacra Napoli is a programme entirely dedicated to the 18th century Neapolitan Dramma Sacro. Almost unknown masterpieces by Pergolesi, Leo and Durante performed with the soprano Elena Finelli and with the extravagant and funny intervention of Mario Sollazzo in the double role of concertmaster and … Cuosemo. Yes, because in the Drammi Sacri of Naples the theatre is omnipresent and does not disdain to have funny, satirical or even obscene characters as that of Cuosemo in “Cnversione di San Guglielmo” by Pergolesi. To the splendid vocal arias Sacra Napoli alternates some of the instrumental introductions to these Drammi, real masterpieces of the Neapolitan school full of instrumental effects, virtuosity and expressiveness. The program has seen its premiere in the Chapel of the Treasury of San Gennaro in Naples for the Napoli Musica Sacra Festival 2024.
